| Abstract: | The exploration and exploitation of submarine oil field in Northern Beibu Bay started in 1950s. In 1960s and 1970s, a great deal of geological work was done. Since the reformig and opening up, breakthrough progress on the exploration of oil and gas has been made. Six oil- gas fields have been found with an oil- bearing area of over 40 square kilometres and oil geological reserves of about 400 million tons. Two of the fields have been exploited, which unveiled the oil and gas resources exploitation in South China. |
