Base-isolated buildings with soil-structure interaction |

| Abstract: | The equations of motion of building systems with soil-structure interaction are formulated for foundations comprising a joint mat or a set of individual spread footings. The influence of soil-structure interaction and the possible effects of building and foundation rocking are examined by investigating the modal properties. Simplifications in the analysis are also suggested. |
