| Abstract: | Revamping-the West" is a great strategic policy making given by the Chinese Government. In this paper, after having introduced the general principles and basic tasks of Revamping the West , the following technical problems are discussed in detail: basic concept of Government GIS and its technical characteristics, fundamental geographic information is the basic spatial frame of the Government GIS, computer assisted policy making functions of Government GIS in aspect of Revamping the West, leading roles of Government GIS in fields of infrastructure establishment, biological environment protection, adjustment of industrial structures, preliminary results and their application. |
