| Abstract: | The application of perturbation analysis in torsionally coupled buildings makes it possible to obtain an approximation of the dynamic properties of the buildings in question by combining appropriately the dynamic properties of the corresponding torsionally uncoupled buildings. This note aims to clarify the results obtained from a second-order perturbation analysis of the mode shapes of torsionally coupled buildings. Numerical examples of building models are given to illustrate the theoretical points. |
