| Abstract: | The properties of kiloparsec jet's brightness distribution in weak extragalactic radio-sources are examined. It is shown that they can be qualitatively explained by jet deceleration from relativistic to subrelativistic velocities. In particular gaps observed at the base of a kiloparsec jets may be regions with brightness diminished due to relativistic beaming of radiation pronounced at small distances from the radio core. |
