Computer hydrodynamic model of the Lower Volga

Abstract:The structure of a hydrodynamic model of the Lower Volga, which has been developed for solving water management problems, and some results of computer simulation of variations of water level at the reach from the Volgograd HPP to the Caspian Sea are considered. The conditions under which the one-dimensional hydrodynamic model, developed in Delft Hydraulic Laboratory of Technical University based on Saint-Venant equations, can be successfully applied in the Lower Volga are determined.
