| Abstract: | The place and role of amethyst in tbe market is mentioned. The characteristics of amethyst, such as mineral component, chemical compinent, physical character, crystal system and inside micro-structure, are described briefly and systematically. It is put forward that amethyst is different from synthetic amethyst, purple scapolite, purple fluorite and other similar gem. |
