Abstract:A pronotal fragment of Amara alpina (Paykull) was found among interstadial organic detritus from the Thule area, northwest Greenland. Nowadays the species is absent from Greenland, in spite of occurrences immediately on the western side of the Davis Strait. The species would undoubtedly be able to live in the greater part of Greenland, but probably has not yet succeeded in reaching the country after the Last Glaciation.
