Abstract:A new shciff's base 3,5-dibromsalicyladehyde-glycocoll(DBSAGLY) was synthezied and its characteristics were determined. The optimal conditions for the fluorescent complex formation of DBSAGLY with Zinc(Ⅱ) were established. The maxinum excitation and emission wavelength is 300 nm and 468 nm respectively at pH 7.0~8.0. The molar ratio of Zinc to DBSAGLY was determined to be 1∶1. The proposed method was used for the determination of Zinc in crops in the range of 0~120 μg/L. The detection limit of Zn(Ⅱ) is 1.6 μg/L.
