| 摘 要： | 裴文中教授是中国冰缘地貌研究的启动者,他在近半个世纪前发表的两篇论文紧跟国际科学研究发展形势,详细阐述了冰缘作用的特点、过程及其对解决中国东部第四纪古冰川问题的意义。裴老最主要的贡献在于他当时强调了在古冰缘研究中综合分析环境背景的重要性,而不是孤立地研究冰缘现象,这种在地学研究中必须遵循的原则,对于现在的科学研究工作者仍然有很大的启示。

| Abstract: | Professor Pei expounded the characteristics and process of periglacial in details in his two papers published in 1956 and 1957, and also discussed the significance that could help to solve the Quaternary ancient glacier problem in eastern China. Although it has been nearly half a century (from 1956 to 2001) and periglacial geomorphology subject has been further developed, Professor Pei could follow closely the hot spot of the research field and grasped one of the very important key segments of periglacial phenomenon, gelifluction, which means glacial erosion and wriggling action. So his paper has very important consulting sense in many aspects even now. Readers must know the papers published nearly half a century ago, the more outstanding significance is the opening and enlightenment of the periglacial research history in our country. The national geo science group was not quite familiar with the periglacial process at that moment, however, it has already been fairly mature in all the countries in Europe and North America after the world war Ⅱ. They mainly used the ice wedge and the involution, one of the achievements of gelifluction research, to reconstruct the southern frozen ground boundary of Europe and its relevant climate. In the United States, even yearly temperature and the precipitation situation are recovered using this method. This made the periglacial geomorphology become one of the feasible ways to reconstruct the peri environment of the Late Pleistocene epoch. Seen from the history trend, we can say that the achievement in this aspect, which belongs to PAGES developing ardent at the moment, should be the early enlightening science result, although there was no this kind of international research project like PAGES at that time. Till 50′s to 60′s , The geo scientists of the North America also began the work of reconstructing the peri environment using periglacial method (A.L.Washburn etc) after the Europe scientists who did that research earlier. However, the two papers written by Professor Pei in the middle of 1950s kept in step with the developing situation of international science research and enlightened the Chinese scientists to do the research work of the periglacial phenomenon at the proper time. $$$$ |
