| Abstract: | In order to find and solve the current key scientific problems in earthquake prediction researches, so that new and significant scientific progress can be made in earthquake prediction researches, the State Seismological Bureau has determined the general orientation for imminent and short-term earthquake prediction researches during the time of the Eighth Five-Year Plan, based on a series of investigations and pre-studies by the experts of different disciplines. After repeated discussions and evaluations, some common understandings were attained on some important problems of the direction, contents, subjects, scientific goal and technical indexes of the "key task" researches. This paper outlines the major points, the themes defined, the relation between the themes and the features of the theme organizations of the imminent and short-term earthquake prediction researches by theState Seismological Bureau during the time of the Eighth Five-Year Plan. |
