宁芜火山岩地区同位素地质年代学的初步研究

摘    要:宁芜火山岩地区在长江下游,地跨苏、皖两省,位于淮阳山字型构造前弧东翼,是一陆相断陷盆地。中生代以来,该地区岩浆活动强烈,表现为大面积的中性和偏碱性岩浆喷发和侵入,其中火山岩厚度达千余米。解放以来,不少单位对该火山岩地区进行了大量工作。

Abstract:Mesozoic volcanic rocks are widely distributed in the Nanjing and Wuhu area. These volcanic rocks were considered in the past as belonging to Late Jurassic or Late Jurassic-Cretaceous in age, basing mainly on previous correlations of regional stratigraphy. The isotopic dating of the rocks under investigation was carried out by K-Ar method, and the conclusion reached is that the Mesozoic volcanic rocks in the area studied were chiefly erupted in three stages during the Cretaceous, such as the early (120.2-126.8 m.y.), middle (113.2-114.6 m.y.) and late (73.2-105.7 m.y.). It is proposed here to call the sedimentary intercalations between the former two stages of volcanic activities the Gushan formation. It is also possible that the volcanic rocks of the area studied here were caused rather by the polycentral volcanic activities, than crevasse eruptions as suggested by former workers.
