| 摘 要： | 十五年前公布施行的《地层规范草案及地层规范草案说明书》(以下简称《规范》和《说明书》在我国地层学上曾经起了一定的历史作用。经过十五年来的大量地质实践,我们发现这两个文件已经不能完全适应当前和今后的需要,必须设法修改、补充,才能跟得上地层工作迅速发展的新形势。另一方面,广大地质工作者对于二者的理解和在实际工作中的应用很不一致,有时发生严重的分歧,造成概念上的混乱。关于组的含义和具体使用办法上的分歧就是一个突出的例子。

| Abstract: | The present paper deals with the problem of: How to understand and apply the term Formation. It points out the necessity of a prompt revision of the Stratigraphic Code and its Explanation which fall behind the rapid progress of the last fifteen years. The prineiple of priority in the selection of existing stratigraphic units is here questioned. Some confusions in the concept of Formation should hereafter be avoided. Finally a brief account on the time-transgressive nature of the Devonian Lianhuashan Formation is added. |
