Abstract:The pumped-storage project, located in the lower reaches of the Pushi River, is in the central belt which is characterized by hard-rain, large varieties of flood and high sedimentation concentration in short flood duration. Losses of effective storage capacity in upper and lower reservoir and sediment abrasion to pump turbine with water head of 300m are the main problems in design. According to the characteristics of the pumped-storage power station, functions of one-dimensional sediment mathematical model are extended and optimizing scheme of the lower reservoir operation is obtained through calculation. Compared with physical model, twodimensional sedimentation mathematical model is adopted here to study in intake reaches, which can not only solve the sediment problems in project design, but also find a new way for sediment analysis and calculation of pumped-storage project.
