| Abstract: | On May 3, 1996, a strong earthquake of M 6. 4 occurred near Baotou City, the inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China, the local people suffered great losses in lives and property. In this paper, the authors give a brief account of the earthquake, including the seismic source parameters,earthquake damage, earthquake resistance and disaster relief, social and economic influence, and the earthquake trend. |
