| Abstract: | Strong isotopic fractionation between234U and238U has been noted in deep oil-well brines. The waters are stratigraphically and structurally isolated from fresh-water inflow and have remained stagnant for more than five half-lifes of234U. Excess234U is explained by the234Th alpha-recoil nucleus event. |
