Abstract:The advantage of using the analytic signal method to determine source boundary parameters is the independence from the magnetization direction (2D) or is only slightly dependent on the magnetization direction. The position, depth and structural index of source can be obtained by the EULDPH method. The combined Euler and analytic signal method with high order derivative has been presented. But one has to calculate the third derivative of potential field anomaly. The method, therefore, is sensitive to noise in the data. Especially, in the case of complicated feature of magnetic anomaly, the noise distorts the higher order analytic signal so badly that it might spoil computed results. In order to circumvent this difficulty we develop a combined Euler and analytic signal method for an inversion calculation of potential data, with which the order of derivative calculated is not more than two. Synthetic data and real data demonstrate the effectiveness of this improved method. In addition, this method can be used for inversion of gravity anomaly.
