| Abstract: | In this paper we combine the load-unload response ration theory with seismicity to study the spacio-temporal characteristics before Yongshan earthquake. We find out that (1) stereoscopic drawing of Y values, the load-unload response ration, several years before the major shock shows ring distributon for high value region, looking like "surrounded by hills",however, the one without strong earthquake followed seems "a wide expanse of flat land"; (2) the Y value in enhanced formed before strong earthquake experienced a process of "high-low-raising again"; (3)the region with high Y value moves to the epicenter of major shock in space and approaches the time of the major shock occurance in temporal domain. All of these characteristics have a vital significance to predict the location and time of strong earthquake. Based on the idea we had predicted the enhanced region of seismicity appearing from 1977 to 1994. |
