| Abstract: | Based on the cross-fault short levelling data surveyed in Yunnan Province, this paper proposes and testifies such a new view-point. When the benchmarks are basically stable in the seismically-quiescent period, differential changes observed before the occurrence of earthquakes at respective benchmarks might prove to be a kind of precursory information heralding a seismic event. |
