摘    要:提出了估计地震前后震源区应力水平的方法. 以2001年昆仑山口西8.1级地震为例, 估算了地震前后震源区的应力水平. 结果表明:地震前震源区的应力值为6.3~8 MPa;地震发生后,震源区的应力值为5~6.7 MPa. 震后震源区的应力仅下降了20%左右.

Abstract:A method is proposed to estimate the stress level in the focal region of an earthquake. Taking the 2001 M8. 1 western Kunlun Mountain Pass earthquake as an example, its stress level in the focal region before and after is estimated by this method. The results show that the stress level in the focal region is approximately 6. 3-8 MPa just prior to the initiation of this event and about 5-6. 7 MPa remaining in the focal region after its occurrence. The stress in the focal region decreased by roughly twenty percent after this event.
