| Abstract: | Based on studying the earthquake catalogues and the results of paleoearthquakes of the whole Tianshan ares in both Xinjiang and Soviet Union, the author tried to put the rhythm of seismicity of the whole Tianshan area into five classes, that is, earthquake epoch, earthquake subepoch, earthquake age, earthquake episode and earthquake stage. The characteristics of each rhythm is analysed to estimate the tendency of seismicity in future in Tianshan area. |
