中国大陆背景噪声强度时空分布

摘    要:使用中国地震台网888个宽频带地震台站2010年1月至2011年6月记录的连续波形垂直向分量, 进行了中国大陆背景噪声强度时空分布研究, 得到了中国大陆周期为10 s的背景噪声强度的时空分布图像。 背景噪声强度的时间分布具有一定的季节性和周期性变化特征, 研究表明2011年1~3月间的背景噪声强度最高。 背景噪声强度空间分布显示, 中国大陆背景噪声强度呈现明显的分区特性, 其分布与地质结构无明显相关性, 表明背景噪声场的强度高于场地效应。 其中, 东南沿海地区的背景噪声强度最大, 向内陆地区逐渐衰减, 至青藏高原地区背景噪声强度减至最小。 这种方向性的强度分布很可能与菲律宾和太平洋的潮汐等因素有关, 受印度洋的影响不大; 而到新疆地区, 背景噪声的强度又有一定程度增加, 表明这一地区的背景噪声主要不是来源于中国东南海域, 而是来自于欧亚大陆内部。 本研究得到的背景噪声强度可以为多个地区的微震强度提供基础数据资料, 也可以为背景噪声互相关的地震学研究提供参考。 更为重要的是, 还可以为基于背景噪声提取面波衰减研究提供基础数据, 进而实现从背景噪声中提取面波衰减。

Abstract:Successive waveforms of the vertical component recorded by 888 broadband seismic stations of China Seismography Network in January, 2010 to June, 2011 are used to investigate the temporal and spatial distribution of ambient noise strength, and the images of ambient noise strength at the period of 10 s in mainland China are obtained. The temporal variation of ambient noise strength shows some seasonal and periodic characteristics. The maximum ambient noise strength occurred in January 2011 to March 2011. The spatial distribution images of ambient noise strength show obvious zoning features, which doesn’t correlate with surface geology, suggesting that noise field is stronger than site factors. The strength in southeastern coastal areas achieves the maximum and generally decreases toward to inland areas, and arrives at the minimum in the Tibetan Plateau. The zonal intensity distribution is probably correlated with ocean tides from the Phillipin Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. It also shows that the influence from the Indian Ocean seems little. However, the ambient noise strength increases in a certain degree in Xinjiang area, indicating that the main source of ambient noise in the western area of mainland China is not derived from the East and South China Sea, rather it’s from the deep interior of the Eurasian continent. The ambient noise strength obtained in this study can supply some references for the seismology research based on ambient noise correlation. Moreover, it can supply the basic data for the attenuation research based on ambient noise, and then achieves the object of retrieving the attenuation of Rayleigh waves from ambient noise.
