摘    要:在分析了应用小波分析方法判断地震活动趋势可信度的基础上,对中国大陆地区"第五活跃期"是否结束问题进行了分析.研究表明,中国大陆地区"第五活跃期"结束的标志性地震是2001年11月14日昆仑山口西8.1级地震,也就是说,现在处于"第五活跃期"后的平静期.

Abstract:In this paper, based on the reliability of seismic activity level predicted by the theory of wavelet transform, we study the end of the fifth active period from the 20th century in China mainland. The result gives that the western mouth of Kunlun Mountain earthquake of 8.1 magnitude on 14, Nov. 2001 was as the end of the fifth active period in the China mainland. That is, it is in a quiet period that follows the fifth active period now.
