区域气候模式在东亚地区的应用研究——垂直分辨率与侧边界对夏季季风降水影响研究

摘    要:将美国国家大气研究中心(NCAR)的区域气候模式(RegCM2-1996)设置在东亚-西太平洋区域(简称东亚区域气候模式RegCM2/EA)。利用该模式研究东亚区域气候模式的几个重要问题,即:垂直分辨率的影响,侧边界条件(如嵌套技术、缓冲区宽度、不同资料)的重要性等。数值试验结果表明:细垂直分辨率模拟的降水分布优于粗分辨率模式,但容易引起“数值点暴雨”;RegCM2/EA与不同来源的大尺度侧边界嵌套,模拟的降水会有明显的不同;当用RegCM2/EA模拟较大区域时,应该取较宽的缓冲区;在各种嵌套方案中,指数松弛嵌套方法最好。这些结果为进一步探讨东亚区域气候模式的特点以及发展与改造区域气候模式提供一定的依据。研究结果还需要用更多的数值试验来验证。

Abstract:A regional climate model over East Asia and the western Pacific Ocean (denoted as RegCM2/EA) has been set up based on the NCAR RegCM2 (1996 version). Several key issues of regional climate models over East Asia have been studied by using the RegCM2/EA, such as the effects of vertical resolutions; the actions of lateral boundary conditions (such as nesting methods, width of buffer zones and the different large-scale circulations). It is shown after a series of numerical experiments that the pattern of rainfall as simulated by the model with a fine vertical resolution was better than the coarse one; the different simulations of precipitation by the model nesting to the different large-scale lateral boundary fields were noticed; a large domain over East Asia needs a wider buffer zone of the model; the exponential relaxation is the best among six nesting methods. These results are useful to develop and improve the model in future for the predictions of summer monsoon rainfall. It is necessary to verify the results after the further numerical experiments.
