摘    要:GPS气象学(GPS/MET)是20世纪90年代兴起的一种大气遥感技术。经过近10多年的发展,GPS/MET技术正逐步从科研走向业务应用。介绍了地基GPS/MET遥感大气水汽含量的基本原理,简单回顾了地基GPS/MET的发展历程,并根据其发展现状,对地基GPS/MET应用前景和发展趋势进行了展望。认为,未来地基GPS/MET的发展主要体现在加强中尺度站网建设、发展和完善斜路径基础上的层析技术,以及资料产品在天气预报(尤其是临近预报)、气候监测和评估、中尺度数值模式等方面的应用。

Abstract:The GPS meteorology (GPS/MET), a technology to sense atmospheric water vapor content, has been rapidly developed since 1990s and is gradually applied to the operation. In this paper, the principle of ground-based GPS/MET is introduced, and its development is reviewed briefly. Besides, the potential application and the tendency of the ground-based GPS/MET are prospected based on its present situation. We believe that in the future, the main developing directions involve establishing mesoscale network of ground-based GPS/MET, developing and improving tomography technique on the basis of slant-path water vapor method, and the data products application to weather forecast (e.g. nowcasting), climate monitoring and assessment, mesoscale numerical model, etc.
