| 摘 要： | Based on linear theory of sea waves, the height distribution of the intersections of wave surface with its envelope is derived. The distribution may be regarded as that of the significant crest heights under certain conditions. Some properties of this distribution are discussed in analogy to maxima theory. Data are found to be in good agreement with the theoretical curve.
