| Abstract: | The lumping mass finite element method for solving shallow water equtions is presented in this paPer. The smoothing formula for irregular triangle meshes are described in detail. By the use of the smoothing techinique,the numerical oscillations can be damped and the computational stubility be increased. The method has been applied to Shantou Harbour for computing the tide and tidal currents. The results agree with the observed data satsifactorily. |
