| Abstract: | This article reviews the research work on the flocculation of fine fbiments in estuaries. It is concluded that the de-stubilization and flocculation of fine ediments happens primarily at the beginning of estuarine mixing of fresh and salt water. The factors influencing the flocculation of fine sediments, such as salinity, organic substances, shear Stress in water flow, and surface charge of fine sediments etc. have been summarized and discussed together with analysis and discussion of the mechanism of flocculation of fine sediments in estuaries. |
