摘    要:在分析海洋地理信息系统发展的推动力和形式的基础上,论述了研究和开发基于卫星遥感数据的开发型海洋大气地理信息系统(Marine and Atmospheric Geographical Information System,MAGIS)的意义;阐述了MAGIS系统的总体设计和工作流程以及总结了系统的特色并展望了系统的发展前景。

Abstract:MAGIS (Marine and Atmospheric Geographical Information System) is a kind of GIS platform software, which aims at the management, analysis and visualization of marine and atmospheric environmental data. MAGIS is basically a seamless integration of three subsystems: data management, spatial-temporal analysis, and visualization. The data management subsystem implements the selection, cleaning, transform, input and retrieval of data on the basis of a pre-built spatial-temporal data warehouse. The spatial-temporal analysis subsystem includes the following analysis functions: linear regression, non-linear regression, spectral analysis, EOF, SVD, CCA, harmonic analysis and image processing. The visualization subsystem supplies several kinds of illustration tools that are commonly used in marine research. MAGIS has two operating modes: menu driven and science work flow (SWF). The SWF mode, which is capable of completing the retrieval, analysis and presentation of marine data in a successive manner, is managed by a visualized modeling approach supplied with the system. In this paper, the importance, necessity and challenges of applying a GIS to marine research are first presented. The current status of marine GIS development is then described, and the significance of MAGIS development is clarified. The construction, functions and technical schemes of the MAGIS are explained. Finally, the prospects of the MAGIS are discussed.
