| Abstract: | Keeping in the air and stimulated by flowing water the mature adults of S. constricta spawn during the night. To study the effect of darkening on spawning of S. constricta,two comparative experiments were carried out by using two-year-old parents both in natural light and in artifical darkened conditions. In these experiments aquarium and water vat were used as container, and raincoats made of rubbered cloth as darkening material. Experiments showed that light restrained yet darkening induced the spawni-ng. |
