| Abstract: | At first,remote acoustic classification of seafloor sediments was discussed for its purpose,application and technological background.Then,main remote acoustic classification methods were presented in a systematic way. These methods included normal incidence classification studies with gated CW pulses,wideband width pulses and chirp pulse,and off-normal incidence classification studies such as side-scan sonar and multibeam echo sounding.Their developing histories and present condition were studied,and their further development was discussed. |
