Abstract:The earth system can be divided into three sub systems such as the fluid earth system, solid earth system and surface earth system. In this paper today and future of the dynamics of the surface earth system are mainly discussed and the main contents of the dynamics are put forward. The dynamics of surface earth system is also a part of earth system science, which covers three fields such as the land use/cover dynamics, the dynamics ecosystem of landscape and the mornitoring of the earth surface changes using remote sensing techniques in the research of earth system science of Northern America. In this paper, the dynamics of surface earth system contains recognition of changes of the surface earth system drived by human, modelling the changes, distinguishing their driving forces from natural and human integrated creations and simulating the changes. The dynamics of the surface earth system is a very important science foundation to understand and shape regional sustainable development, and is also a very useful means to make the policy of regional natural resource developing.
