伟齿蛤化石研究现状与存在问题

摘    要:晚三叠世非常繁盛的伟齿蛤类是一种奇特的双壳类软体动物 ,以其个体巨大、壳壁厚实 (骨骼/躯体比率高 )、铰板厚重、铰齿粗壮且强烈突出、铰齿变化大而著称。但以往发现的这类化石主要为内核和印模 ,因此迄今对伟齿蛤类的了解还十分贫乏 ,其属种分类混乱 ,生态与演化关系不清 ,是双壳纲目前研究最薄弱的科之一。文中评述了伟齿蛤类的研究现状和存在的问题 ,并指出中国长江源区新发现的伟齿蛤化石保存完好数量丰富 ,为研究解决这些问题提供了目前世界上最完备的材料。

Abstract:The very flourishing Triassic megalodontids is a kind of peculiar mollusca which is noted for its characteristics of large-size, thick shell-wall, and massive hinge plate, of intensively-protruding teeth and the considerable variation of the teeth in size, and of shape and their position in hinge plate. However, most of the known fossils of megalodontids discovered in the past are internal or outer moulds, consequently we could understand less about the megalodontids; its genera and species classification is rather confused; the ecology and its evolution is not clear as well; and as a result it turns into the most-weakly studied family of Bivalvia. This paper has reviewed the current status and problems of researches on megalodontids. Nevertheless, in recent 4 years a great quantity of very well-preserved Triassic megalodontids have been found in the source area of Yangtze river by the authors. Most of them are preserved in crust-form, and some both in crust-form and in counterpart mould-form.The large number and good preservation of these specimens have clearly displayed the variation regularity of the teeth, the most important classification criterion in size, shape and their position in hinge plate within the range of species and of genera, and the variation pattern of the other classification criteria. Some genera and a lot of species including the new genus Quemocuomegalodon Yao, Sha et Zhang, and the new species Q. orientus Yao, Sha et Zhang (figures in plate I and II are only a small part of the species group) as well as Q. longitatus Yao, Sha et Zhang have been recognized or established from this fauna, the research on their classification, ecology and evolution is still in progress.
