| Abstract: | A simple numerical procedure for the solution of the non-linear differential equation is presented. Such an equation with the appropriate boundary conditions is often encountered in the analysis of piles subjected to lateral loads and bending moments. The method is suitable for application using a microcomputer of limited memory capacity and the extension of the procedure to cover the solution to the equation 4+f(u, y) = 0 which governs the mode of deformation of slab-on-grades is possible and straight-forward. |
