| Abstract: | The aims of this paper are to present a review of anisotropy of the upper mantle and its genesis, the contents and methods of the research and the implications of the research for geodynamics. It is emphasised that the lattice-preferred orientation (fabric)of olivine and pyroxene induced by plastic flow is the main cause for anisotropy of the upper mantle. |
