| Abstract: | Based on the investigations carried out recently,main issues arising from groundwater utilization in large plains and basins of China were analyzed in this paper.Subsequently,it is suggested that three countermeasures may be helpful in managing sustainable utilization of groundwater resources in these areas: readjustment of groundwater exploitation from deep-seated confined aquifers,adequately utilizing shallow groundwater,and changing the manners in exploitation and utilization groundwater resource in the endorheic basins of northwestern China. |
