Abstract:The authors present an empirical formula calculating Gibbs energies of formation of Al-bearing silicates.It is written as follows:△silicate(Al)=-1.46×n1n2/n1+n2(△OM2-+47.33)Kcal/mol The statistic results show that,for 21 numbers,the relative coefficient between and n1+n2/n1n2silicate is-0.980; given △OM2-the standand deviation S=2.7 Kcal/mol.Furthermore the authors think that the formula for calculating Gibbs energies of formation of monovalent and divalent metal silicate,developed by Y.Tandy et al.,can be extended to silicates with high valent cation.Gibbs energies of formation of some minerals have been predicted,such as: Lai-hunite (Fe1.003+ Fe582+ Si96O4)-311.1±4,natrosiderite (NaFeSi2O6,)-556.5±4,py-rope (Mg3Al2Si3O12)-1142.4±16.3,Greenlandite (Fe3Al2Si3O12)-1184.1±16.3,Parts-chinite (Mn3Al2Si3O12)-1283.8±16.3,Beryl (Be3Al2Si6O18)-2018.2±21.8 kcal/mol.It is suggested that Y.Tandy et al.’s method can be extended to high temperature condition.For the silicates at 400k and 500k,the empirical formula calculating the Gibbs energies of formation is written:△silicate,400K=1.00×n1n2/n1+n2(△OM400K2-+40.80)Kcal/mol △silicate500K=-0.95×n1n2/n1+n2(△OM500K2-+38.90)Kcal/mol.
