海南岛南岸全新世珊瑚礁的发育

摘    要:海南岛南岸的珊瑚礁,是我国全新世珊瑚岸礁最为发育的地区之一,仅次于台湾岛南端的恒春半岛沿岸。前人从生物学1-5]、地貌学6-8]和地质学9-12]角度对海南岛南岸的珊瑚礁进行过较为广泛的研究。作者报道过崖县鹿回头水尾岭剖面珊瑚礁样品的C14年代测定结果13,14]。1979年底至1980年初,作者在海南岛南岸东起小东海沿岸西至西瑁岛西岸地区进行了野外调查与采样。根据野外和室内分析资料,本文公布了一批新测试的C14年代数据,并进一步讨论了全新世珊瑚礁的发育历史及其与海岸变迁、海面变化和地壳运动的关系等问题。

Abstract:The southern coast of Hainan Island along which coral reef develops (Figs.1 and 2) is one of areas where the Holocene fringing reefs are mostly developed in China.In Table 1,the sampling localities and C14 age determinations of 17 coral samples in (his area are listed,of which 9 are recently collected and dated by the authors of this paper.Based upon the field investigation and C14 dating,several stages of development of coral reefs in this area can be subdivided as follows:Ximao stage,8500-8200 yrs,BPLuhuitou stage,6300-4800 yrs,BPYezhuang stage,4400-4000 yrs,BP Dongmao stage,3800-3600 yrs,BPThe Ximao stage can be regarded as a developmental stage of Holocene coral reefs,while the transgression arrived so far onto the present bedrock coast that the sea water separated a number of bedrock hills from the main body of Hainan Island,consequently,Dougmao,Ximao and "Luhuitou range" Islands were formed.The Luhuitou stage was a flourishing stage of Holocene coral reefs resulting in formation of a broad reef flat,which later partially became a raised reef known as Luhuitou raised coral reef.In the past 5000 years,development of coral reefs was in a degenerative period,and the regression and deposition of sediments led the Luhuitou range to connect with the Hainan Island.As a result,the Yezhuang tiebar and waveshadow barrier of Dongmao and Ximao Islands formed.Based upon the studies on the coral reefs of this area and the acient sea level indicators along the coast in China,it may be found that the Holoeene sea level was oseillative,and there were several Holocene high sea levels (6000-5000,4700-4000,3800-3000 and 2500-1100 years BP) higher than that of present sea level. Based upon C14 dating,altitudes,sedimentation depths and paleosea level positions deduced from the analysis of the coral samples in Table 1,technically uplift rate of this area may be estimated by a linear least-square fitting method.The results of calculation (Fig.3) show that this rate reached up to 6.7 mm/yr between 8500-5000 years BP,but in the past 5000 years,the earthcrust beneath this area was stable (according to Pairbridge’s Holocene sea level change curves).Presumably,between 8500-4000 years BP,uplift rate was 3.4 mm/yr,but in the past 4000 years,it reduced to 1.3mm/ yr (according to Shepard’s curve).The authors are in favour of the first conclusion,but it is essential to recalculate the uplift rate by the IIolocene sea level change curves suiting to the condition in China and to check the results.
