Weathering processes in glacial type lithogenesis |
| |
Abstract: | Snow and ice are not chemically pure, as heretofore assumed, but are actually sedimentary rocks of variable petrography, which on weathering form loess-like deposits and coarse detritus. During active thaws these products wash into streams, leaving only large stones.-- W. Cookson. |
