| Abstract: | The Heimulin of southern Shaanxi nemalite mine is currently the largest worldwide known nemalite deposit occurring in the intrusive ultrabasic rock—inclined orthopyroxene in peridotite,which is completely serpentinized.The average thickness of ore body is about 400m and its length is 2400m.The plane form shows a long lens.The average grade of ore body is about 4.322%.The nemalite is variant mineral of brucite.It is a fibrous or flaky aggregate,which is close to theoretic brucite value.It is said to be the trigonal crystal system with layered structure.The Mg2+ of component is isomorphism substituted to form variant minerals,such as nickel-rich brucite,nickel-zinc brucite and iron-rich brucite by Fe2+,Mn2+,Zn2+ and Ni2+.Now,it is mainly used for abstracting Mg and MgO raw materials,dead-burning magnesium,enhancing and reinforcing materials,paper filling and flame retardant materials and other industrial areas,especially being prosperous in the production of Mg(OH)2 flame retardant on which the level of study is close to that of the international.The research of Mg(OH)2 flame retardant with highly added value comes to the prior development direction for nemalite. |
