| Abstract: | Chongming Dongtan is a estuarine tidal wetland with the greatest size and the most perfect developed in the Changjiang estuary, at the same time, also it is a estuarine growing wetland. In this paper, through analyzing Chongming Dongtan SPOT images in 1988 and 2002, we have reached some conclusions;(1) Not all part of Chongming Dongtan is in growth,Chongming Dongtan southern part is withdrawing;(2)In the part of growth, the fastest is in the eastern;(3)With decrease of sediments from the upper reaches of the Changjiang and inning in a larger scale,the prospect of this region is not good. So, it is urgent to sustainable exploit, use and protect this area. |
