摘    要:地球系统的碳循环,制约着一系列资源环境问题的形成和发展.掌握其运行规律和机制,将为可持续发展提供重要的知识支撑.本文回顾了数百年来人类对碳循环认识的历史,概述了20世纪最后年代,通过IGBP,IGCP等国际计划,以及一些国家计划对全球碳循环所作的观测、试验和模型分析所获得的重要成果.同时也指出了当前国际碳循环研究中在学术思路、观测试验工作布署,以及对碳循环有关的资源环境问题研究等方面不足之处,特别是一些重大国际计划存在着忽视地质作用对全球碳循环影响的问题.在此基础上,对21世纪初全球碳循环研究可能出现的热点作了分析,并建议我国的碳循环研究,除了要继续积极参与各种多边国际合作计划,作出我们应有的贡献外,还应根据我国的地域优势,选碳酸盐岩地区的碳循环,和碳循环的资源环境问题两个突破口,作重点深入研究.

Abstract:A better understanding on the regularity and mechanism of the Earth System's carbon cycle can help sustainable development as it is controlling the formation and development of a series of resources and environmental problems. The development of Man's knowdedge on carbon cycle in the past hundreds of years, especially the major results of monitoring, experiments and modelling on global carbon cycle under the frameworks of some multilateral cooperative programmes such as IGBP, and IGCP, and some national projects in the final years of the 20th century are summarized. Meanwhile, some problems in the current international carbon cycle research, including those in the guiding academic thoughts, the planning of monitoring works, and the study of environmental and resources problems related to carbon cycle are analysed. In some major international programmes, there is an ignorance at the impact of geological processes on global carbon cycle. On the bases of such discussions, possible progresses in global carbon cycle research in the early period of the 21st Century are figured out. It is suggested that in the next stage of carbon cycle research in China, we should, in addition to continue our active involvement and contribute in various international cooperative programmes, take the advantages of our territorial superiority, and focus on such fields as carbon cycle in carbonate rock area as well as its relevant resources and environmental problems. Breakthrough in these directions should be promising.
