| Abstract: | About 58 species of 25 genera of fossil plants are discribed by the writers from the Hongshan Formation in Hongshan area, Yichun and then enrich the content of fossil plants in this formation. Among this flora, 25 species of 13 genera are reported here for the first time. After analysing the materials obtained, the writers further state the compositional characteristics of the flora, and consider that this flora of Hongshan Formation is Cathaysian-Angara mixed one.About the boundary of the Angara floristic province and the Cathaysian floristic province, there were different ideas in the past. Based upon the understanding of the Late Palaeozoic palaeogcography and the distribution of the floras , the writers have considered for a long time that the Neimong land and its eastward and westward extensions are the boundary. This land controlls the climatic conditions and the bioprovinces of the Southern and the Northern sides for a long period up to now. Along the both sides of the land, two floras arc mixed. |
