摘    要:本文通过“豫灵人”发现区的地质构造、黄河演进、地层层序、地貌形态以及古生物等方面的分析与研究,提出了本区第四纪古地理环境演变与“豫灵人”出现之间有着紧密相关关系的一些看法和认识。

Abstract:Located at the foot of the northern slopes of the Yuxi Mountains of the middle reaches of the Huanghe Valley and with a well-de-veloped Quaternary system, the Sanmenxia Fault-sink Basin was one of the earliest paleoanthro-pologically active areas in China. Since the beginning of this century more than a hundred researchers (mainly Quaternary geologists and Paleoanthropologists) have carried out their investigations in the Sanmenxia Basin, and many important results have been published. However,to date,no research on paleoanthropological fossils has been reported. Based upon the fossilized Yuling-man skull discovered in 1987, this study: 1)Attempts to reconstruct the Sanmenxia Basin's paleogeographical environment according to the interrelationships among the geological structures, the formation of the Huanghe, the stratigraphic sequence, and the ge-omorphological and Paleobiological patterns. 2) Concludes that the paleogeographical environment in which the Yul-ing-Man lived was on the sloping fore-fan near-shore alluvial plains which had a mild climate ,well suited to hunting and gathering activities.
