| Abstract: | Having a quantitative analysis about the similarity of the shape and structure of fractal objects in different scales, the fractal theory has been preliminarily applied to automatic generalization of cartographic line. But because a single fractal dimension cannot fully describe the spatial shape characters of a cartographic line, it easily makes a wrong generalization result. This paper mainly discusses an improved algorithm of cartographic line generalization based on the extended fractal dimension model. |
