Abstract:In order to meet the current needs of geological maps in three-dimensional mapping,we chose SRTM DEM as the three-dimensional data source.Through the process of geological mapping application analysis and factor analysis,we conducted the operation of the data accuracy analysis,the rapid extraction of contour,slope and aspect,to improve the water system accuracy combined with the DEM and so on.Then we made the geological map visual analysis with the geological map of Hunan and Anhui provinces as the example on the MapGIS platform.It proved that DEM can display the geological map as a map layer and enhance the map stereo performance.Meantime,combined the DEM with existing geographical data and geological data,through the comparative analysis,it proved that DEM can improve the precision of geological elements expression.
