| Abstract: | GIS and geo-spatial data are very important for vehicle navigation system. The role of GIS in vehicle navigation system is described and three key technical issues are analyzed including the construction and update of navigable geographic data, route planning and guidance, and map matching. Among them, the construction and update of navigable geographic data is a foundation and almost every kind of navigation functions have to be based on it. |
