基于演化和制度经济地理学,构建了区位机会窗口、金融机构衍生、区域产业分叉、制度厚度“四位一体”的分析框架,以郑州为案例,以郑东新区金融产业集聚区为对象,通过问卷调查和深度访谈,研究了中国内陆区域中心城市金融产业在特定空间的集聚过程与演化机理。研究发现:在金融产业集聚起步阶段,郑东新区开发建设为金融业发展打开了区位机会窗口;在快速发展阶段,金融机构衍生是金融业集聚和集群化发展的重要内生动力;在全面提升阶段,区域产业分叉是金融业态创新和高端要素集聚的主导力量;在郑东新区金融业集聚演化的全过程中,持续改进的政府支持与制度安排使制度厚度不断加厚,自增强机制使制度空间的粘性作用不断增强。与制造业的企业衍生、产业分叉过程不同,金融业集聚演化缺乏从大学实验室、科研机构、已有产业衍生和分叉出以技术为纽带的相关企业的实践,但对制度空间的粘性作用有更强的依赖。  相似文献

Theories of place have yet to be developed to explore societal responses to terrorism in the post-9/11 city. Urban geographers have shown the relevance of place for understanding the way people live in cities, including conceptualizations of the way people perceive those places. Geographers working on environmental risk have also conceptualized perception, but only in regard to hazard perception. They have not focused on the city itself as a hazard site, nor have they studied how the contours of place affect hazard perception. Joining urban geography and risk-hazards scholarship, this study argues for a terrorism-place nexus that links terrorism hazard perception to urban place. Using survey and interview data collected from 79 financial service executives in New York City, it will be shown that terrorism has created a place-based ontological dissonance among financial executives, and we speculate about the implications for the city should these workers restore ontological order by moving away their establishments.  相似文献

This paper contributes to the literature on global cities by exploring the locational dynamics of advertising agencies in New York City. Like other cultural products industries, advertising agencies occupy dense agglomeration complexes and engage in multiple relationships of exchange with other industries. However, while historically concentrated around Madison Avenue, there have been significant changes in the location of advertising services in the 1980s and 1990s. Shifts in the geography of advertising are tied to a number of factors, including the trans-nationalization of agencies, which has led to financial pressures and a desire to cut real estate costs. The globalization of agencies has also fueled the need for improved access to telecommunication technologies. This has motivated agencies to abandon older buildings in search of newer real estate developments. Finally, the increased demand for creativity has been central to changes in the spatiality of advertising. Locational shifts have not diminished the importance of place, however. Centripetal forces continue to keep advertising firms clustered in dense spaces.  相似文献

ABSTRACT. The geography of terrorism remains underexplored. By focusing on the spatial patterns of terrorist attacks, the settings and land uses in which attacks occur, and the methods used to perpetrate violence, this analysis helps build a theory of terrorism geography. Between 1 January 1997 and 11 September 2005, 178 terrorist incidents occurred in the United States. Analysis of these incidents suggests three insights. At the national scale, terrorism in the United States clustered in large urban areas, with regional differentiation of terrorist motives and targets. At the scale of individual attack sites, terrorist motivations pinpointed offices, clinics, and public spaces; right‐wing violence, military, government, and infrastructural targets; and religious terrorism, commercial and special land uses. At the scale of individual interactions, terrorists crossed paths with victims in various ways. For example, the 2001 anthrax‐attack letters and lone‐wolf terrorism created alternative intersections of perpetrators with victims.  相似文献

The objective of this paper is to analyze the changing geography of the 500 fastest growing small, private companies, as defined by Inc magazine, in the United States from 1982 to 1992. The study focuses on rates of formation of these firms within types of metropolitan region, the impact of economic restructuring, and the locational dynamics of companies within the fastest growing economic sectors. Results suggest that there is little regional or hierarchical logic to the distribution of the firms, that the influence of economic restructuring is clearly evident, and that new rapidly growing high-technology firms are highly concentrated in San Francisco and Los Angeles, while higher-order service firms are dispersing down the urban hierarchy.  相似文献

全球跨境与本土并购活动日益频繁,有效地促进了企业各类要素跨区域、跨部门流动,是产业转型与空间重构乃至重塑区域经济地理格局的重要动力。企业并购逐渐成为经济地理学界研究的重要内容。相关研究利用经典区位分析、企业组织及空间扩张、产业地理集聚、全球生产网络(GPNs)等经济地理学理论和方法,从企业自身组织与空间结构演化、企业间及地方多维临近性等角度,广泛探讨了企业并购投资区位选择的时空特征、形成机制及其空间效应等议题。主要研究结论为:①企业并购投资区位选择在不同空间尺度上均呈现“核心—边缘”结构,而企业所在区域和行业属性,企业间地理、组织、认知临近性,地方间经济社会联系等是其重要影响因素。②企业并购投资的空间效应主要体现在企业增长及其空间扩张、产业转型与空间重构,区域经济发展、劳动力就业、地方商业与制度环境、区域差异与区域一体化等方面。在总结国内外研究成果的基础上,本文指出中国经济地理学领域企业并购研究的不足和方向,以期为相关研究提供有益借鉴。  相似文献

This paper presents an analysis of the geography of the booming 'Islamic financial services' (IFS) sector, which provides a host of financial services based on Islamic religious grounds. The relevance of such an analysis is discussed against the conceptual backdrop of the world city network literature. It is argued that a focus on the globalisation of the IFS sector may provide an alternative to hegemonic geographical imaginations of world city-formation through its focus on other forms of globalising economic processes and regions that do not commonly feature in this literature. Based on information on the location strategies of 28 leading IFS firms in 64 cities across the world, we analyse different features of this decentred global urban geography. Manama is hereby identified as the Mecca of the IFS sector, while other major Gulf cities such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi are also primary nodes in this urban network. Other major Middle East North Africa (MENA) cities such as Tehran follow suit, but also more traditional financial centres such as London are well connected.  相似文献

企业海外上市的地点选择是金融地理学关注的重要问题。中国有大量的企业在海外上市,其中新加坡是最重要的海外上市地点之一,但是近几年其吸引力有所下降。本文首先分析中国企业在新加坡上市的时间、空间以及行业结构变化历程,在此基础上探讨新加坡成为我国企业海外上市重要目的地以及近期地位下降的原因。凭借与中国在地理、文化和语言等方面的邻近性及产业上的相似性、较为宽松的上市条件、证券交易所积极的市场营销、来自新加坡的风险投资机构的推动以及地方企业集群的模仿领袖效应,新加坡在很长一段时间都是我国企业海外上市的重要目的地之一。2007年以后,新加坡证券交易所对中国企业的吸引力明显下降,主要是由全球金融危机造成资本市场低迷、全球各大交易所间竞争加剧和中国概念股在新加坡金融市场融资不畅等原因造成。结论部分指出,新加坡原有的吸引中国企业前去上市的优势已逐步丧失,企业应理性对待上市。此外,海外上市对全球金融地理格局有深远影响,值得更多国内地理学者进行研究。  相似文献

The concentration of poor, service-dependent groups in aging central cities results both from suburbanization of the affluent and from the reliance of the service-dependent population upon place-specific human services provided by the public sector. Such concentration of services and their users in deteriorating inner-city sites may be functional for the larger society, but it has adverse impacts upon those who are service dependent. This paper argues that the implications of locational interdependence between such groups and their support services demand a paradigm for urban geography that centers upon the fundamental structure and impacts of population/service-provision linkages.  相似文献

Attention has shifted to the role of subsidiary urban centers as the new “spatial nodes” within metropolitan areas as manufacturing employment has dispersed away from its traditional central city locations over the past decades. Understanding the character and evolving functions of these new “centers” is crucial to predicting (or influencing) future metropolitan spatial patterns. This paper explores the nature and role of the principal employment centers within the Dallas-Fort Worth region from the perspective of locational choices by firms in three-digit SIC Manufacturing. First the centers are empirically identified via a methodology that “maps” employment land-use polygons onto a zip code-level geography. The industrial attributes of firms choosing such centers are then investigated using multinomial logit. The general attractiveness to firms in manufacturing of various spatial characteristics of these centers are next studied through a discrete choice framework. Finally, a “mixed” conditional logit model is specified and implemented to identify special affinities between a type of firm and a kind of location. Results of the exercise enable judgment on the utility of the employment center concept and on industrial location behavior in a modem urban context.  相似文献

Producer services are traditionally considered as place-bound and clustered in city centers to benefit from agglomeration effects. Such a pattern has been reshaped, however, by the decentralization of the service industry and the development of information and communication technology (ICT), especially for the software industry. This study investigates locational trajectories and underlying factors of software firms from 1990 to 2011 in Shanghai to detect intraurban location trajectories and spatial dynamics. We find that location of the software industry has changed from a monocentric pattern concentrated in the central city area toward a polycentric pattern with a relative decline of the core area. Using a conditional logit model, the study has found that government policies, accessibility, environmental conditions, agglomeration economies, and site characteristics are important determinants of location choice for software firms. In addition, the firm-level survey and in-depth interviews in Pudong Software Park show that government policy and planning, especially rent and tax incentives, have played a vital role in attracting software firms to locate in development zones.  相似文献

基于北京1996年和2001年两次基本单位普查等数据,本文采用OPM模型和GIS分析等方法,定量研究了期间北京制造业区位因子特征及其变化。结果表明,北京制造业企业整体呈现出郊区化发展态势,且这一进程仍在继续;各主要区位因子对企业择址影响不尽相同--训练有素的劳动者的分布作用尤为突出;就企业而言,外资企业初期为规避风险倾向于城区,而后期为降低成本倾向于郊区,但规模变量似乎不重要;市场指向性强的行业偏好城区,资源型产业偏好郊区,技术密集型产业偏好高素质劳动力"供应地"集中的城区;集聚经济推动制造业企业往郊县的工业园区集中;保护生态的政策使得企业更易选择在环境管制较少的地区发展,而交通运输的便利提高了企业城区择址的几率。  相似文献

环境经济地理学是经济地理学反思资源环境在学科内部边缘化的产物,旨在重建经济地理学理论与资源环境之间的联系。历经近20年的发展,环境经济地理学研究片段化、地位边缘化的问题无明显改观。为此,本文回溯了环境经济地理学的发展思路,归纳了以环境经济地理学名义开展的研究工作,探讨了环境经济地理学发展面临的挑战与应对。研究发现:① 环境经济地理学过去20年的发展思路是以经济地理学理论为基础,探讨适应资源环境变化的经济发展与空间布局模式,凝练了环境治理和绿色转型两个研究主题。② 面向环境治理,环境经济地理学应用全球价值链和全球生产网络理论,探讨企业和地方如何实现环境和经济效益的共同提升;同时,借助区位分析评估作为区位因子的环境规制如何影响经济布局,发现了诸多“经典假说”的反例。③ 面向绿色转型,环境经济地理学与演化经济地理学结合,应用区域多样化和路径创造理论,分析了区域绿色转型的条件和过程。④ 环境经济地理学的未来发展需要克服范式差异、加强问题导向、推动理论创新,挖掘中国丰富的环境经济地理问题所蕴含的机遇。  相似文献

基于第二次基本单位普查资料,采用OPM模型分析北京制造业外资企业的区位行为。研究表明,外资企业的集聚程度由城内向外显著递减,依托交通干线和开发区,外资企业已经扩散到了北京的郊区县,推动了制造业的郊区化发展。统计结果显示,企业、产业和集聚因素共同决定了制造业外资企业的区位选择。规模较大的、新建的外资企业倾向于近郊区,而多种经营的、独资的企业则偏好城内,尤其在二~四环之间,集聚经济推动了制造业外资企业的郊区化。外资企业的区位行为存在显著的产业差异。  相似文献

借鉴已有理论与实证研究成果,综合运用GIS空间分析与计量模型等方法,重点分析省区空间尺度上中国本土并购双方企业的地理格局,从企业地域“根植性”视角探讨并购双方区位选择与空间关联的影响因素。研究结果表明:买方和标的企业在空间上呈现共同集聚特征,总体形成了与中国沿江沿海“T”形区域发展格局、“核心-边缘”城镇等级体系相似的地理格局;并购双方企业主要集聚于经济发达区域,虽然2010年代以来中西部省区企业参与并购投资事件有所增长,但省区间差异逐渐固化,北京、长三角、珠三角等大都市地区更多以买方角色主导企业跨区域并购,而中西部及资源型区域企业则多以并购标的角色为主;企业并购投资行为根植于地方经济社会和制度环境,买方和标的企业的区位选择机制较为相似,并购双方更偏好集聚于证劵和金融市场繁荣、区域创新系统完善、经济和产业基础雄厚的区域。  相似文献

相关企业的地理集中有利于降低市场风险和交易成本,有利于推动创新和市场竞争,也能够共享劳动力市场和基础设施,产业地理集中与产业和城市竞争力密切相关。90年代以来产业地理集中成为经济学和地理学的热点课题。文章综述了产业区位论、贸易理论以及集聚理论对产业地理集中的解释,并对国内外关于产业地理集中的实证研究进行了总结,集中讨论了资源投入、市场需求、企业规模、外部经济、产业联系以及区域经济一体化等对产业地理集中的影响,揭示了产业地理集中的微观机制。  相似文献
