A Simple And General Subgrid Model Suitable Both For Surface Layer And Free-Stream Turbulence 总被引:1,自引:1,他引:1
A new and general approach is presented to allow standard subgrid schemes to besuitable both for surface layer and free-stream turbulence. Simple modificationsto subgrid schemes are proposed and derived for any vertical stabilityconditions. They are simple to implement in models and are suitable for morecomplicated simulations such as large-eddy simulation with inhomogeneoussurface conditions or complex topography. They are also applicable to mesoscaleand large-scale models. These modifications are physically justified by recentmeasurements of spectra close to the ground. The spectral analysis presentedshows how the energy deficit of blocked turbulence for a given dissipation(`anomalous dissipation') dramatically affects the coefficients to be used insubgrid schemes. As shown for neutral and convective cases with wind shear,these changes allow us to substantially improve the prediction of profiles for themean quantities in the surface layer. Agreement with similarity laws in the unstablecase is found up to about 0.2zi, for simulated shear, stabilityprofiles and dissipation rates of turbulent kinetic energy. 相似文献

The physical effects of topography and heat sources on the formation and maintenance of the summer mon-soon over Asia we discussed in this paper by using the transformed Eularian-mean equations and a quasigeostrophic 34-level spherical coordinate model.The computed results of the divergence of the E-P flux, the induced meridional circulation and the pertur-bation geostrophic wind speed induced by the forcing of topography and heat sources show that the diabatic heating effect over the Tibetan Plateau may play an important role for the formation and maintenance of the summer monsoon over Asia, which is much greater than the dynamical effect of topography.The computed results also show that, of the physical effects of topography and heat sources on the formation and maintenance of the summer monsoon over Asia, the effect of forced meridional circulation is larger than that of the divergence of E-P flux of the induced waves. 相似文献

A linear theory is used to model windflow over a tundra landscape, taken as an example of complex topography. The autocorrelation between gradients at different points in this landscape has an exponential dependence on separation, characterized by a correlation length. Areal variances of simulated windspeeds are proportional to the variance of the topographic gradient. Simulations with synthetic topographies having the same correlation structure show that the constants of proportionality in these relationships depend on the correlation length. Statistics of snow sublimation and transport calculated using simulated windspeed distributions in a distributed blowing-snow model are found to be in good agreement for real and synthetic topographies. 相似文献

利用WRF模式对2012年8月17~18日四川出现的一次大暴雨过程进行模式模拟和诊断分析,并通过对地形敏感性试验讨论川西高原至川东过渡带陡峭地形对此次暴雨的影响。结果表明,WRF基本成功模拟出2012年8月中旬四川中部大暴雨过程,对环流形式预报与实况较为一致。此次过程水汽来源台风低压及副高外围携带的水汽。川中云团发展阶段对应四川中部多个站出现强降水,该对流云团发展是引发本次降水的重要因素,而对流层中低层高温高湿环境对对流云团发展提供有力的环境。地形敏感性试验表明,陡峭地形高度与降水强度呈正比,通过影响陡峭地形周边物理量特征场分布从而影响暴雨区降水强度;相对湿度的影响小于温度对降水强度的影响作用。 相似文献

Summary In this paper, we investigate the role that horizontal resolution plays in the simulation of East Asia precipitation. Two
sets of numerical experiments are performed using the Regional Climate Model (RegCM2) nested in one-way mode within the CSIRO
global coupled atmosphere-ocean model. In the first set we use the actual RegCM2 topography at the selected model resolutions,
which are 45, 60, 90, 120, 180, 240 and 360 km. In the second set of the experiments, the same coarse CSIRO model topography
is used in all simulations using the different resolutions of the first set. The results demonstrate that the simulation of
East Asian precipitation improves as the horizontal resolution is increased. Moreover, it is shown that the simulations using
a higher resolution along with the coarse CSIRO topography perform better than the simulations using a coarser model resolution
with corresponding model topography. This suggests that over East Asia adequate spatial resolution to resolve the physical
and dynamical processes is more important than topography. Lastly, the results indicate that model resolutions of 60 km or
higher are needed to accurately simulate the distribution of precipitation over China and East Asia. 相似文献
