This paper presents numerical simulations of Cone Penetration Test (CPT) in water-saturated soft soils taking into account pore pressure dissipation during installation. Besides modelling interaction between soil skeleton and pore fluid, the problem involves large soil deformations in the vicinity of the penetrometer, soil–structure interaction, and complex non-linear response of soil. This makes such simulations challenging. Depending on the soil’s permeability and compressibility, undrained, partially drained or drained conditions might occur. Partially drained conditions are commonly encountered in soils such as silts and sand–clay mixtures. However, this is often neglected in CPT interpretation, which may lead to inaccurate estimates of soil properties. This paper aims at improving the understanding of the penetration process in different drainage conditions through advanced numerical analyses. A two-phase Material Point Method is applied to simulate large soil deformations and generation and dissipation of excess pore pressures during penetration. The constitutive behaviour of soil is modelled with the Modified Cam Clay model. Numerical results are compared with experimental data showing good agreement.  相似文献

为了探究静压沉桩与CPTU贯入力学机制,开展了饱和黏土中静压沉桩及CPTU贯入的离心模型试验,获得了静压沉桩与CPTU贯入过程中土压力、超孔压和贯入阻力的变化规律。同时,将静压桩和CPTU压入过程视为一系列球孔的连续贯入,应用圆孔扩张解答,建立了静压沉桩和CPTU贯入过程中锥头阻力、侧阻力与超孔压的预测方法。通过离心模型试验和理论预测结果的对比分析表明:随着桩体的压入,桩周土体的超孔压和土压力均逐渐增大,当桩头通过监测点时,超孔压与土压力均达到最大值;在饱和黏土中,CPTU锥头阻力、锥侧摩阻力和锥头超孔压与锥头贯入深度总体上呈线性关系。预测方法估算沉桩和CPTU贯入引起的土压力、超孔压与模型试验结果相符,较好地反映了饱和黏土中静压沉桩和CPTU贯入的力学机制。  相似文献

近年来许多研究者致力于通过孔压静力触探(CPTU)确定土体的渗透系数,但是存在偏差大,而且不能从机制上清楚地解释孔压静力触探确定土体渗透系数的原因。为了应用孔压静力触探现场快速地确定土体的渗透系数,在总结前人对孔压静力触探确定土体渗透系数方法的研究基础上,提出孔压静力触探时锥头处呈球冠形孔隙水流动的计算模型,假定锥头处初始超孔隙水压力为负指数型分布,推导出土体渗透系数的表达式,并且结合现场实测数据,将所提出的方法与已有的方法进行对比分析。研究发现:所提出的方法扩大了现有方法的应用范围;渗透系数计算结果受锥头角度的影响较大,随着锥头角度的增大而增大;针对国际上通用的60°角的标准锥头,所提出的方法计算的渗透系数大于前人的方法,而且更接近室内外试验结果。  相似文献

孔隙水压力静力触探作为一种新型的土体勘测技术已被广泛应用,但是,其机理的研究尚存在很大的不足。笔者系统分析了孔压触探的贯入特征,提出了“孔隙水压力体积基准值”的概念,借此推导出用土体体积变形量计算超孔隙水压力的公式。在此基础上,用轴对称有限单元法模拟探头的动态贯入过程,揭示应力-应变的变化特征,寻找超孔隙水压力生成与消散的规律,对孔压触探的机理进行了研究。  相似文献

我国海域普遍分布有迭层土,由于结构的特殊性,对于其性质的准确把握,直接影响到海洋工程诸如打桩、钻井船插深等问题预测的准确性,关系到海洋工程建设的安全。现场进行孔压静力触探CPTU试验以及室内试验,分析我国南海海域迭层土的物理、力学性质的特点,对迭层土抗剪强度值的确定进行探讨。CPTU试验数据显示,迭层土的物理力学性质与单一土层具有较明显的差异;由于迭层土中砂层的存在,室内三轴不排水剪切试验(UU试验)确定的不排水强度明显偏低,是CPTU确定的不排水抗剪强度的下限值。CPTU的结果可以较好地反映了迭层土的特点,根据CPTU试验结果得到的摩阻比变化范围较大,在0~8之间远大于一般的砂土或黏土的变化范围,摩阻比与修正端阻之间的关系可用双曲线近似表示。建议进行静力分析时,迭层土不排水抗剪强度参数选取应参考CPTU试验结果。  相似文献

土的工程分类是工程勘察和设计应用的关键问题之一。基于孔压静力触探测试(piezocone penetration test,简称CPTU)原位测试参数进行土分类是高效实用的方法。国内外现有分类方法的名称及标准与我国《水运工程岩土勘察规范》(JTS 133-2013)不符合。因此,建立基于CPTU原位测试参数、符合我国行业标准的土工程分类方法具有重要工程意义。在收集大量国内外水运工程CPTU测试资料的基础上,对比分析了616个间距小于5 m的CPTU测试孔和相应钻孔取样与室内土工试验成果。选择国内外7种常用的CPTU土分类图进行应用比较,发现这些土分类图所采用的应力修正计算方法在考虑浅层土体的有效上覆应力修正时存在一定的缺陷,通过引入新的应力修正方法和修正土分类边界线,建立了适合我国水运工程的CPTU土分类方法。对比应用分析表明,该分类图能够准确地进行水运工程土类划分,尤其适合于软土、粉细砂和中粗砂的划分,可作为我国水运工程的土工程分类方法。  相似文献

Guidance is provided for geotechnical engineers designing civil engineering works in silty soils based on a detailed characterisation of a glaciomarine silt from Os in western Norway. It was found that these soils are susceptible to disturbance by good quality fixed piston tube sampling and care needs to be taken when using laboratory derived design parameters, particularly for consolidation and shear strength properties. A technique for assessing sample disturbance using shear wave velocity and suction measurements proved promising. Conventional techniques for determining soil strength from triaxial tests in silt are inappropriate due to the dilational nature of the material and more reliable and logical strength estimates can be made from a limiting strain criterion. Field vane data should be used with caution as measured strength, particularly remoulded values, may be high and it seems more reliable parameters can be derived from CPTU tests. One dimensional consolidation and creep of these silts can be modelled successfully by the well-known Janbu formulation. The behaviour of the Os silts does not fit easily into classical soil mechanics and published frameworks for soft soils. It seems the material is of “transitional” type and this work adds to the database of such soils which includes other natural silts and gap graded soils. For future work it is recommended that larger sample tubes (say 75 mm) with a very sharp cutting edge should be used in parallel with in situ CPTU testing.  相似文献

原位测试技术分析软土的应力历史可以避免取样及室内土工试验对土样的扰动,其结果能真实地反映现场土体的工程特性。以往基于孔压静力触探(CPTU)测试技术的超固结比(OCR)计算方法主要是针对超固结土取得的,缺乏对现场处于欠固结状态土体的考虑,具有一定的局限性。在已有研究成果的基础上,提出采用不完全孔压消散曲线的末段及时间平方根倒数外推法计算原位初始孔压,如果初始孔压大于静水压力,表明原位土层中存在固有孔压,为欠固结土。在此基础上,通过计算固结状态参数,可进一步对软土层的欠固结程度进行定量评价。工程应用表明,该方法不受软土性质和地域限制,具有普遍适用性,是合理可行的。在缺乏室内固结试验成果的情况下,可高效快捷地判别软土层的固结状态。研究成果对合理评价欠固结软土的工程特性具有一定的指导意义。  相似文献

The current use of fundamental mechanics in developing rational interpretation methods for deriving soil properties from in situ test results is reviewed and evaluated. The focus is on some of the most widely used in situ test devices including cone penetrometers with and without pore pressure measurements (CPTU and CPT), self-boring and cone pressuremeters (SBPMT and CPMT), and flat dilatometers (DMT). In situ tests in both cohesive and frictional soils for measuring strength and stiffness properties, in situ state parameters, consolidation coefficients, stress history, and in situ stresses are considered in detail.  相似文献

The estimate of secondary compression behaviour of sandy and silty deposits is not routinely taken into account in the classical settlement calculation, due to its generally limited contribution to the total amount of strains. However, such soils exhibit a non-negligible time-dependent behaviour and the prediction of their long-term response may sometimes be important.

This paper explores the capability of the piezocone test as an effective tool to estimate the one-dimensional secondary compression characteristics of sands and silts. The approach is mainly based on the observation that frictional response essentially governs both secondary compression of granular soils and cone resistance, hence it seems reasonable to establish a valid correlation among them.

The study uses part of the field data assembled over the last years at the Treporti Test Site (Venice, Italy), within an extensive research project aimed at analysing the stress-strain-time response of the predominantly silty sediments forming the Venetian lagoon subsoil.

Empirical, site-specific correlations for estimating the secondary compression coefficient from cone resistance are proposed. The regression analyses indicate that the estimate is slightly improved if the cone resistance-based correlations include a variable accounting for the different pore pressure response associated to the drainage conditions around the advancing cone.  相似文献

This paper completes the study presented in the accompanying paper, and demonstrates a numerical algorithm for parameter prediction from the piezocone test (CPTU) data. This part deals with a development of neural network (NN) models which are able to map multi‐variable input data onto typical geotechnical characteristics and constitutive parameters of the modified Cam clay model, which has been applied in this study. The identification procedure is designed for the coupled hydro‐mechanical boundary value problem in normally‐and lightly overconsolidated clayey soils including partially drained conditions that may appear during cone penetration. The NN models are trained with pseudo‐experimental measurements derived with the aid of the numerical model of the piezocone test, presented in the accompanying paper. Different input configurations containing CPTU measurements and some complementary data are studied with respect to the accuracy of predicted parameter values. Finally, the performance of the developed NN predictors is tested with field CPTU data which are derived from three well‐documented characterization sites, and the obtained predictions are compared with benchmark laboratory results. 针对部分细粒土进行了室内落锥法确定液限和塑限的试验研究,试验结果表明:对于一些细粒土在双对数坐标上圆锥下沉深度与含水率之间的关系并非线性关系,无法依据线性关系确定液、塑限;采用规程建议的3个含水率范围有时根本无法获得有效试验数据,采用规程建议的3个含水率范围确定得到粉土的液、塑限试验结果的可靠性有待商榷;采用直线段试验数据确定的液、塑限进行分类可能出现相互矛盾甚至错误的结果。进一步试验结果表明:对于黏粒含量高于13 %的粉土,由于其抗剪强度以凝聚分量为主,落锥法适用,所测塑性指数能够反映其可塑性;对于部分黏粒含量低于13 %的粉土及外观接近粉土的粉砂,由于其抗剪强度以颗粒间摩擦分量为主,落锥法不再适用,所测塑性指数不能反映其可塑性。  相似文献

孔压静力触探(CPTU)是20世纪80年代在国际上兴起的新型原位测试技术,因其诸多优点,目前在欧美诸国已得到广泛应用。由于探头规格、技术标准和操作程序的差异,影响CPTU测试成果的因素很多,而且其影响程度也各不相同。根据前人的研究成果,对CPTU测试成果的影响因素进行了分析总结,以期在CPTU资料整理和应用中引起重视。最后,简要论述了考虑诸多影响因素的原始数据修正方法。  相似文献

为探讨利用孔压静力触探求取土层固结系数的可行性与规律, 在珠江三角洲软土地区进行了大量孔压静力触探超孔压消散试验.对试验场地、设备和方法作了简明扼要地介绍, 重点分析了试验机理及结果, 并将孔压消散试验估算的固结系数与室内固结试验得到的试验值以及现场沉降资料反算值作了比较, 证明它们之间有很好的规律性, 且用孔压静探所求固结系数更接近于实际值.   相似文献

孔压静力触探试验(CPTU)是目前使用最为广泛的原位测试方法之一,但CPTU不能原位测量土体最基本的指标——密度。密度孔压静力触探试验(DCPTU)是把核子密度仪结合到孔压静力触探系统中,贯入过程中可以同时测量锥尖阻力、侧壁摩阻力、孔隙水压力和密度的一种新型原位测试方法。本文首先介绍了DCPTU的试验装置和密度测试理论;然后通过与室内试验结果对比评价了利用DCPTU测量砂土、黏土、填土地层以及海底淤泥的密度的可靠性,分析了非均质地层中DCPTU测量密度与真实密度的区别、并提出了真实密度剖面的推求方法;然后综述了DCPTU在判别软弱夹层、评价砂土的液化势、检验地基处理效果、检测块状填土中的空隙、调查浮泥层的厚度和密度分布等方面的工程应用;最后展望了DCPTU在工程勘察中的发展趋势和应用前景。  相似文献

Interpretation of CPTU testing in silt is non-trivial because of the partially drained conditions that are likely to occur during penetration. A better understanding of the pore pressure generation/dissipation is needed in order to obtain reliable design parameters. Following a previous study using X-ray computed tomography (micro-CT) with volumetric digital image correlation (3D-DIC) that clearly showed the formation of distinct dilation and compression areas around the cone; the present work takes a closer look at those areas in order to link volumetric behavior to changes in soil fabric. High-resolution 2D backscattered electron images of polished thin sections prepared from frozen samples at the end of penetration are used. The images have a spatial resolution of 0.4 µm/pixel that allow a clear identification of grains and pore spaces. Image processing techniques are developed to quantify local porosity and obtain the statistical distribution of the particle orientation for the zones around the cone tip and shaft. It is shown that the formation of compaction regions is related to the ability of the grains to rearrange and align along a well-defined preferred orientation forming a more closed-fabric characterized by high anisotropy values, while zones of dilation are associated with a more open packing with grains randomly oriented and with large voids within. These observations suggested that for a saturated soil, water will move from a compressive zone to a neighboring dilative zone, creating a short drainage path. By shedding light on the link between soil fabric and drainage patterns, this study contributes toward a better understanding of the measured macro-response during CPTU tests on silt.  相似文献

Twelve methods to determine axial pile capacity directly based on cone penetration test (CPT) and piezocone penetration test (CPTU) data are presented, compared and evaluated. Analyses and evaluation were conducted on three types of piles of different size and length. All the tested piles have failed at the end of static load test. Both the CPT methods and the CPTU methods were used to estimate the load bearing capacities of the investigated piles (Qp). The static load test was performed to determine the measured load bearing capacities (Qm). The pile capacities determined through different methods were compared with the measured values obtained from the static load tests. Two criteria were selected as bases of evaluation: the best fit line for Qp versus Qm and the arithmetic mean and standard deviation for the ratio Qp/Qm. Results of the analyses showed that the best methods for determining pile capacity are the two CPTU methods. Furthermore, the CPTU method is simple, easy to apply, and not influenced by the subjective judgements of operating staff. Therefore, it is quite suitable for the application in pile engineering practice.  相似文献
